(Director, Co-writer and conceiver), a powerhouse of energy and ideas, is currently assistant director to Susan Stroman on the upcoming Broadway revival of The Music Man, as well as associate director to Mike Ockrent for A Christmas Carol at Madison Square Garden. Ray is also currently co-writing and directing a new musical version of The Prince and The Pauper for Madison Square Garden. He also directed and co-wrote I Love New York, Rip Van Winkle and I Love A Piano: The Music of Ira Gershwin at the Ordway Theatre in St. Paul for Rent producer Kevin McCullom. Off-Broadway, he directed The Story Goes On; The Music of Maltby and Shire, starring Loni Ackerman with David Shire at the piano, and L’Amour, The Merrier starring Steve Ross and Karen Murphy. As a Broadway actor, Ray has been seen in Barnum, Cats, Grind, Wind in The Willows, Crazy For You and the recent hit revival of A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum. Most recently he was seen as the principal standby for I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change.
